More Than a Buzzword: How ID5 is Raising the Privacy Bar

In honor of Data Privacy Day on January 28th, ID5 is dedicating an entire week to data protection best practices! Privacy-first has become a buzzword companies use in marketing materials yet few actually provide insight into how they uphold privacy principles across their organization. For many of these organizations privacy compliance has become a marketing check the box narrative rather than an internalized brand value.

This Data Privacy Week ID5 is demonstrating how we put privacy first. To kick things off we want to share how ID5 is not only talking when it comes to privacy but walking the walk as well.

Going Beyond Compliance

It’s no longer enough to merely comply with laws, another way companies can demonstrate a commitment to privacy compliance is by earning independent privacy certifications. In 2023 ID5 completed “TRUSTe’s Enterprise Privacy & Data Governance Practices Certification” from TrustArc. TrustArc’s certification framework is based upon globally recognized laws and regulatory standards, like the GDPR, OECD Privacy Guidelines, APEC Framework, ISO 27001, and HIPAA. The TRUSTe certification demonstrates to consumers an organization’s compliance and commitment to these data protection regulations and frameworks.

In addition to this, ID5 recently earned its Data Quality and Cookieless Recertification, awarded by Neutronian, an independent data verification provider. Renowned for its comprehensive approach to data privacy, transparency, quality, and performance verification, Neutronian’s certification underscores our commitment to maintaining the highest standards in the industry.

“We are happy to recertify ID5 for overall Data Quality and Cookieless verification,” said Lisa Abousaleh, CEO and Co-Founder of Neutronian. “Google’s deprecation of third-party cookies has officially begun, making it increasingly critical for brands and agencies to find future-proofed identity solutions. ID5 fills this need and continues to lead the way in the identity space with their ongoing commitment to transparency, privacy and quality.”

Privacy is More Than Just a Buzzword

Securing Neutronian’s recertification was no small feat. To earn this recertification, the ID5 team had to align with Neutronian’s Quality Index framework, a comprehensive set of metrics that covers consent mechanisms, privacy disclosures, compliance, sourcing transparency, methodology, and data performance.  The audit process involved a rigorous examination of our data policies and procedures against Neutronian’s stringent criteria.

We’re delighted to share that ID5 not only met but, in some instances, exceeded Neutronian’s baseline requirements, demonstrating our unwavering commitment to the highest standards.

How ID5 is Preparing for the Future of Privacy

Looking ahead, Neutronian’s evaluation also considered forward-looking privacy concerns and regulations to ensure that ID5 is not just meeting current standards but is actively “future-proofing” our capabilities. This includes steering clear of soon-to-be deprecated data currencies like third-party cookies, reinforcing our dedication to staying ahead in an ever-evolving digital landscape.

“ID5’s recertification for Neutronian’s Data Quality and Cookieless certifications underscores our proactive stance in safeguarding user privacy,” said Mathieu Roche, CEO and Co-Founder of ID5, “We are proud to empower a more ethical and responsible data ecosystem for our partners and their end users.”
